Frequently Asked Questions Do we combine shipping? Yes we combine shipping. Supposedly, the process is automated but we have noticed discrepancies in the past (typically an overcharge on the actual shipping cost). When this occurs, we refund the difference between the shipping cost and the overpayment immediately. Why do I have to go through paypal to buy items? Don't you accept credit cards directly? Security, security, security. I spent a good forty hours researching online credit card processors, SSL certificates, verifications.... and the net result was as follows: Purchasing the level of security needed to make me feel comfortable having the responsibility for your credit card / credit information is very expensive. Of course, it's well worth it, but I don't have enough money to upgrade / operate / maintain that type of security system. On the flip side, there are numerous 'cheaper' and hence 'less secure' credit card processors but they don't guarantee anything to the merchant (if someone steals the merchant's customer data, the merchant is at fault for not having a more secure system). Essentially, I view it like this. If you buy something from me online and enter your credit information, I am responsible for it. If a thief steals that information from me, due to lack of proper protection on my end, it is my responsibility and my reputation. And, if your credit card was stolen off my website, would you ever order anything from me again? Thus, in the short term, I decided to link the website to paypal and they will be in charge of verifying you, verifying me, keeping track of what you paid for, and giving you the extra benefit of 'buyer protection' through their services. Essentially, if you feel I've defrauded you in any way you can contest the payment through paypal.
